Klänge is one of Kandinsky's three major publications released shortly before World War I. The artist created the fifty-six wood engravings for this book between 1907 and 1912. His experiences during these formative years with engraving were an important path towards the expressive abstraction he was developing in his painting at the time. Artist's monogram in the plate.
