When asked to comment on his work, Daniel Pandini remains silent. He prefers to discuss the how of his work rather than the why. His folds, paintings, collages, that's what he likes to talk about, leaving observers the freedom to interpret his works. Nevertheless, the impression that emerges from the reliefs suggests that the creator wanted to tell a story. Daniel Pandini therefore cultivates paradox.
"He says, for example, that he is a figurative painter, that it is the image that interests him, telling stories by making the different parts of the work dialogue with each other," comments Manuel Jover. A rather unexpected narration through the abstract nature of the works. Daniel Pandini is a surprising, bewildering artist, just like these assembled wooden planks. "From the painting, Pandini breaks and folds the planes, trims or sharpens the angles (which are never "dead" again), transforms the edges into real edges, but preserves the heart and the intimate folds where the painting is played out, of which the painting is made.
