Charles Lapicque is a French painter and engraver of the new school of betting, born in theizé on October 6, 1898, who died in Orsay on July 15, 1988. His works were considered important, between 1939 and 1943, for the development of non-figurative painting and in the 1950s for the currents pop art, narrative figuration, free figuration.

Born in 1898 and died in 1988, charles lapicque is a French painter of the new school of betting. The adopted son of the professor of general physiology louis lapicque, whose name he takes, charles lapicque learns piano, drawing and violin during his childhood. In 1939, charles lapicque was mobilized at the national centre of scientific research where he was responsible for studying night vision and camouflage.

In 1941, he took part in the first avant-garde exhibition of Bazain jean and the exhibition of today's painters at the gallery of france even as the Nazi government condemned him. He made a series of paintings on the liberation of betting and the square louis gallery exhibited it in 1946. Charles Lapicque received the raoul dufy prize of the Biennale de Venise in 1953, allowing him to discover the city of Venise for a year.
