Original lithograph - Signed & dated 1977 on the back. Title of the work: Twilight. Condition: the print is perfectly preserved. Certificate of authenticity provided on the back by Le Pavillon des Arts on January 18, 1977. Born in Brive-la-Gaillarde in 1933, Jean-Baptiste Valadié is a painter, sculptor, engraver, draughtsman, lithographer, and illustrator. He began at the Cours Charpentier in Montparnasse, and studied applied arts for four years to graduate in 1955. Armed with his pencil, the draughtsman never stopped going to Place du Tertre to sketch.

"It is from fantasy, dream, irrationality, and sensuality that art is born," testifies the artist. His works offer the sweetness of a dream or a "Venetian dream", as expressed in the title of one of his lithographs.

Grace suspends under his pencil stroke and lifts the plastic harmony. His "Laziness" reaches its fullness, and his "Harmony" opens up to the infinite horizons of reverie. An insatiable wanderer, he held his first exhibition in Dakar (Senegal), and continued with an exhibition in Algiers during his military service in 1960. Exhibitions sprouted in France (Paris, Cannes, Lyon) and internationally: South Africa, England, Australia, United States, Japan, Sweden, Switzerland, Belgium.
