Marguerite Gamy (Marguerite Montaut, wife of Ernest Montaut). Journey from Buc to Chartres. Maurice Farman flies over Gaillardon in his airplane equipped with a Renault engine. Signed at the bottom left in the plate. Print on vellum paper, printed by Mabileau & Cie. Marguerite Gamy Montaut was a French artist who signed her work as "Gamy" and most of her works were created using the stencil process. She and her husband Ernest Montaut created artworks focused on early transportation.

Ernest Montaut began producing works in the early 1890s. Marguerite produced works focused not only on car races, but also on the early days of aviation.

Marguerite is credited with the innovation of using lines behind vehicles to indicate speed. She continued to produce works after her husband's death in 1909. "Gamy" is believed to be an anagram of "Magy," her nickname. A Certificate of Authenticity is available upon request. Feel free to ask for more details or additional photos.
